The price depends on the number of nights you wish to spend at the lake before going on safari and the duration of the safari. Indeed, the ascent of Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai is not normally done as the only activity.

This excursion requires good physical shape. The elevation is approximately 1,700 meters. Even if the climbing conditions are good, you still need a certain amount of mountain experience! Good equipment is necessary, especially good walking shoes.

1th day: Arusha/Moshi – Ngarasero
After an early breakfast, departure for the Ngaresero village, near Natron Lake. The journey takes around 8 hours and you will have a picnic on the way. Dinner and overnight at a campsite or Lodge. You will start your ascent of Ol Doinyo Lengai early in the morning. Ol Doinyo Lengai is the most active volcano in Tanzania and the only volcano in the world to have released a lava of natrocarbonatite. At a height of 2586m / 9370ft, it was named by the Maasai as Ol Doinyo Lengai which means Mountain of God.

2nd day: Mount Ol Doinyo Lengai ascent
Wake up at 1 am for tea and cookies, then depart for the base of Ol Doinyo Lengai to begin the ascent in time to observe the sunrise at the top. Descend and return to the camp.

3rd day: way back to Arusha/Moshi or continuation of the journey
After breakfast you return to Arusha/Moshi or continue to Natron Lake and then Serengeti Park. If you continue towards Natron, the prices include a safari.
